Products description
Disana's Aran sweater also keeps your child nice and warm, as it is knitted with an extra large portion of fine merino wool. The large stitches and the voluminous knit enclose small air pockets that have an additional insulating effect. The Aran sweater is definitely the all-weather sweater for cold days.
The characteristic zigzag knitting pattern probably comes from the Irish Aran Islands. There, fishermen's wives outfitted their husbands with warm, woolly pullovers in this pattern.
With ribbed cuffs on the body and on the arms and a classic round neck collar.

Properties of new wool
Wool keeps you warm because its naturally crimped fiber traps a lot of air. Wool regulates temperature and releases excess body heat to the cooler environment.
Pure new wool absorbs up to a third of its own weight in moisture vapor without feeling damp. At the same time, thanks to its lanolin content, the fiber protects against external moisture and allows drops of water to roll off the surface.
Wool does not charge electrostatically and therefore hardly attracts dirt and odors. However, one of the main advantages of wool is its high resilience, which makes it practically wrinkle-free.

The care
The chemical structure of wool is very similar to that of human hair. Therefore, as with washing your hair, cleaning should be as gentle as possible. Wool hardly absorbs any dirt, the scales on the fiber surface literally repel dirt. Wool clothing only needs to be washed seldom, airing it out is usually enough.
However, if wool items need to be washed, natural wool should always be hand washed at max. 30C. Wool is extremely sensitive to alkalis and therefore also to soap.
To wash the wool, use a special wool detergent, e.g. disana wool shampoo. To avoid felting, wool should not be soaked, rubbed, wrung or brushed. Simply push through lightly with your hand. Drain off the washing water and rinse the wool item with clear water. It is essential to ensure that the washing temperature is the same as that of the washing water. Otherwise wool will suffer a "temperature shock" and contract in a flash.
Carefully squeeze the washing and rinsing water out of the wool item and let it dry - drying in the sun, on the heater or even in the tumble dryer is taboo. Lay the wool item on a dry terry towel and let it dry in a shady, well-ventilated place.
